SILVERMAN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY DONATES LAND TO THE NORTH OAKLAND HEADWATERS LAND CONSERVANCY
By Jackie Perreca

(BINGHAM FARMS, Mich. January 31, 2007) – Silverman Development Company has donated land on its Long Lake Village development in Brandon Township to the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy.

Located in the heart of Oakland County, off the M-15 corridor and North of Seymour Lake Road, the development features a variety of housing and commercial opportunities designed in harmony with the area’s natural amenities.  More than 29 acres of sensitive wetlands have been preserved, including 14 acres of Tully Lake, and donated by Silverman to the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy.

“These 29 acres which will be kept natural forever may be the best kept secret in Brandon Township, said Katie Anderson, Executive Director of the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy.  “People may not be able to see it from the road but it is important for everyone to know that Silverman, Brandon Township officials and the North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy all worked together to preserve some of the valuable wetlands that are most critical to maintaining our water quality.”

Silverman reduced lot size originally proposed on the property to preserve and maintain natural land features.  “This has been a three year cooperative effort – working closely with the Township and North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy – that has resulted in creating a environmentally sensitive development that will preserve significant natural features.” said Steve Robinson, President of Silverman Development Company.

The property, originally zoned for multi-family use, includes retail space.  The community, adjacent to the scenic Tully Lake, features 93 single-family homes built by Centex Homes.  The 1,600 to 3,200 square foot homes will start in the mid-$200,000s and the entire development will be worth more than $35 million.

Since 2001, Silverman Development Company has been involved in developing more than 30 residential projects and over 5,000 single- and multi-family units across the Midwest. The company specializes in working closely with local municipalities to entitle properties for construction.  With a focus on creating communities that preserve wetlands and natural amenities, all projects are constructed in harmony with the land.  For more information, call (248) 540-6400 or visit www.silverman.com.
